My family...

I just had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and love for my family come over me.  Nothing to prompt it really, other than spending a quiet (a very quiet) day with my husband and daughter.  As I was checking on my hubby, I just had this feeling come over me.  I am very blessed indeed.  I have a husband who actually wants to be my best friend and life-long partner.  His greatest joy is his family, and that blesses my heart. 

My daughter...even just thinking about the young lady she is growing into brings tears to my eyes. She is such a unique individual; I am so glad to simply know her, much less call her my daughter, because knowing her is like having a constant hopeful beam of light shining in your corner at all times.  I watch her relationship with her Savior grow, and I am awed and so very grateful to God.  I watch her interest in current events and the world around her grow, and I watch as the child from yesterday fades into the background, and the adult she is becoming is fashioned and formed before my very eyes.  These things are stored away deep in my heart.  And they give me hope for the future...

I call myself blessed.  I am so thankful to my God for allowing me these kindesses, these blessings, these kisses to my soul.

Today is a beginning of sorts... The first day of this, my new blog. I've been contemplating creating a blog for sometime, but I've been so torn between my need for privacy and the oh-so public nature of blogging. It seems to me the best blogs, books, movies, music, anything really that someone creates, are the ones where the author invests himself or herself wholly, shares their vulnerabilities. This is where I am torn. How to create a blog that shares a bit of me without really sharing too much of me with a public I do not know, and some of whom to be honest, I probably would rather not know. Not to be rude. But, honestly, there are some real weirdos out there, and I've met more than my fair share of them already. So, I decided to to just jump right in with both feet, and see what happens. More likely than not, my blog will not even be read by one person, much less millions, so my over-obsessive analytical mind has probably been spinning its wheels on this one. So Hello, World! Let's see what comes of this...
