Summer Time...

Summer Day 1, June 5, 2011

Saw "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" - Gotta love Johnny Depp.  Love going to the movies with my kiddo.

Booked airfare to Cali for this summer.  My kiddo will be gone for a week, and then I will join her there for an additional week.  Can't wait to show her all the places I grew up.  More than that, I am excited for her to bond with my aunts and cousins.  And, we get to hang with my youngest sister. Can't beat that!

Yesterday, we watched "Unstoppable" with Denzel Washington.  Intense!  Incredible story of heroism.  I love stories of the heroism of ordinary people who step up to what needs to be done simply because they are there and it needs doing.  This move was based on a true story, although I'm uncertain of how closely it follows true events.  We need to hear more true stories of heroism, not just the negative out there and how we're all screwing the earth up, etc.  But good old fashioned selfless heroism.  I'll be on the lookout for every day heroes.

Also, watched "The Next Three Days" with Russell Crowe.  That one was a bit different, but I liked how he fought for his wife.  Never did he ask her if she killed the woman, and he didn't believe her when she lied and said she did.  An amazing kind of love.  Wonder if that really exists today?  Worth the watch.

Almost a year...

Well, it's been almost a year since my last post.  We've been in our home since October 16th, 2010, and I love it.  Everything has improved since being here.  I am truly blessed!  I've been pondering this blog lately... What do I want it to be, and where to go from here.We give away so much of our privacy in day to day life.  A friend told me about a book called "How to Disappear," and I think I want to read it.  All about how to disappear really, but it also has a ton of info in it about the information out there on each one of us, even if you aren't online much.  Pretty crazy stuff!  Guess I need to check it out for myself.

I haven't read any books this year.  Not a single one.  Hoping to change that this summer.  My goal is to make the most of each day this summer.  Fill it to the max!  I can't wait!! Only have two more years with my daughter before she leaves for college, so we have to fit in all we can.  Memory making overdrive!
